Private Baby First Aid Courses

For Grandparents, Parents and Carers

Bumps and Bashes Children & Baby First Aid have been teaching valuable life saving skills to parents, grandparents and carers since 2009.
Knowing what to do in an emergency, is a skill I hope you will never need but may save a life.
Below are some frequently asked questions about Bumps & Bashes baby first aid classes and courses:

Do you allow babies on your first aid classes for parents/grandparents?

This is a question often asked. We understand childcare can be difficult and also mums maybe breastfeeding. Yes babies are welcome and often new born babies sleep right through the whole thing.  Often after a class some parents explain that they wished they would have found alternative childcare so they could really concentrate on the course. With private home classes the beauty is that it’s your class and we can stop and start to the babies needs and to change nappies, put them down for a sleep or a cuddle.

99% Excellent rating, that’s high. Where do the figures come from?

Bumps and Bashes has been teaching parents, grandparents and carers since 2009, and although I’m very experienced, I’m also obsessed with feedback. I ask for feedback on each class, and from the feedback 99% say it is Excellent. Don’t take my word for it, see what my customers say.

Many of my reviews are on Google & Facebook

100% money-back guarantee if not completely satisfied.

I’m so confident that you will find this course perfect for your family first aid, I’ll give you a 100% money-back guarantee if you don’t agree. After years of specialising, it’s never been needed.

My friends all want to attend and we all have young babies?

I would advise having a home class. This way the class will become private for you. If babies need changing, feeding, etc. I will stop and start to suit you – or should I say your “babies”.

You can find out more about my Private Classes here.

I have many questions

Great, please ask away, as many as you wish. You will never feel uncomfortable asking questions in my class. It is something I encourage.  I want you to feel completely confident, and no question is silly to me.

Your courses are around 3 hours long, is this enough time?

Yes, not too short to cram the essential in, but enough time to make sure you understand and remember important skills you’ll be learning.

You will learn practical no-nonsense first aid in today’s modern world. I won’t drag the class out, by having lots of breaks and a lunch hour. You will be taught only relevant information and not bog you down with irrelevant information.

My classes are kept small for individual attention and so you are not taught in huge groups and I won’t waste your time. You will not need to wait around whilst other attendees have a go on the mannequins. I bring plenty of mannequins.

Is there a test?

No test. No scaremongering, I won’t expect you to be a Consultant Paediatrician, but I will explain simply for you to understand and remember, as a parent doing their best in those vital minutes.

You will also receive a copy of my 72 page, full colour Paediatric First aid Book, worth £7.99 (per household) plus a useful purse/wallet symptoms card.

Are there additional costs once I get on your course?

No, absolutely not. The first aid books given (per household, not per person) are included for each household, as are the memory joggers and all the useful information.

I do not upsell.

How up to date is your training?

You would think teaching first aid, that the trainer is qualified, but sadly and unfortunately for the unaware customers, many are not. I am proud to say that I’m qualified to the highest of standards and I’m also a first aid assessor. I regularly attend training to update my skills according to the latest legislation/advice.

All instructing is right up to date and I will be happy to show all my certificates on request.  My customers expect the best and so do I.

Baby First Aid Course at Home with Friends and Family

Over the last 15+ years, I’ve taught thousands of parents, grandparents, carers, and babysitters how to confidently respond to emergencies. One thing I learned early on is that most people prefer to learn in their own home.

A baby first aid course at home allows you to learn in a relaxed and familiar setting where you feel comfortable asking questions and practising hands-on skills. With busy family life, travelling to a class can be stressful—so I bring everything directly to you.

I also bring at least nine manikins, making sure everyone has the chance to practise properly. Learning with the people who help care for your baby ensures everyone receives the same high-quality guidance.

Group Baby First Aid Course at Home

Group learning makes first aid easier, more enjoyable, and far more memorable. When you book a group baby first aid course at home, your family and friends can learn together, ask questions freely, and practise using the manikins with full support.

I specialise in group home-based first aid training because it gives you complete flexibility. You can choose a morning, afternoon, or evening session—whatever fits your family’s schedule best.

There’s no formal classroom setup and no long PowerPoint presentation. Instead, the course is packed with practical activities and real-life scenarios. I also provide the latest guidance backed by up-to-date research, along with:

  • Useful handouts

  • A 72-page full-colour Paediatric First Aid Book (worth £7.99 per household)

There’s no need to write notes—just focus on learning and practising.
Even though baby first aid is a serious subject, the sessions are always positive, supportive, and often great bonding experiences for families.

Why Choose Bumps and Bashes?

For more than 15 years, I have been delivering trusted baby first aid courses at home, teaching only the most effective and current first-aid methods. Techniques change over time, but some providers still teach outdated information. When you learn with me, you can be confident you’re learning the very best, most up-to-date guidance from a fully qualified and certified instructor.

I continually update my training to include improved techniques, resources, and research, ensuring your session is accurate, reliable, and practical.

I also enjoy getting to know you and your family, so your course feels personal and tailored. You can choose a session time that suits your busy routine—morning, afternoon, or evening—so learning fits around your life, not the other way around.

Don’t leave safety to chance. Book your baby first aid course at home today and gain the knowledge, confidence, and practical skills that could make all the difference in an emergency. Every second counts—empower yourself with life-saving training.
