Private Baby First Aid Courses
For Grandparents, Parents and Carers
Bumps and Bashes Children & Baby First Aid have been teaching valuable life saving skills to parents, grandparents and carers since 2009.
Knowing what to do in an emergency, is a skill I hope you will never need but may save a life.
Below are some frequently asked questions about Bumps & Bashes baby first aid classes and courses:
Do you allow babies on your first aid classes for parents/grandparents?
This is a question often asked. We understand childcare can be difficult and also mums maybe breastfeeding. Yes babies are welcome and often new born babies sleep right through the whole thing. Often after a class some parents explain that they wished they would have found alternative childcare so they could really concentrate on the course. With private home classes the beauty is that it’s your class and we can stop and start to the babies needs and to change nappies, put them down for a sleep or a cuddle.
99% Excellent rating, that’s high. Where do the figures from?
Bumps and Bashes have been teaching parents, grandparents and carers since 2009 and although I’m very experienced, I’m also obsessed about feedback. I ask for feedback on each class and from the feedback my rating is 99%. Don’t take my word for it, see what my customers say.
100% money-back guarantee if not completely satisfied.
I’m so confident that you will find this course perfect for your family first aid, I’ll give you a 100% money-back guarantee if you don’t. After years of specialising, it’s never ever been needed.
My friends all want to attend and we all have young babies?
I would advise having a home class. This way the class will become private for you. If babies need changing, feeding, etc. I will stop and start to suit you – or should I say your “babies”.

I have many questions
Great I’ve heard many already and I’m very experienced. Please ask away, as many as you wish. You will never feel uncomfortable asking questions on a class about any topic.
Your courses are around 3 hours long, is this enough time?
Yes, not too short to cram the essential in, but enough time to make sure you understand and remember important skills you’ll be learning.
You will learn practical no-nonsense first aid in today’s modern world. I won’t drag the class out, by having lots of breaks and a lunch hour. You will be taught only relevant information and not bog you down with irrelevant information.
My classes are kept small for individual attention and so you are not taught in huge groups and won’t waste your time. You won’t need to wait around whilst other attendees have a go on the mannequins. I bring plenty of mannequins.
Is there a test?
No test. No scaremongering, I won’t expect you to be a Consultant Paediatrician, but I will explain simply for you to understand and remember, as a parent doing their best in those vital minutes.
You will also receive a copy of my 72 page, full colour Paediatric First aid Book, worth £7.99 (per household) plus a useful purse/wallet symptoms card.
Are there additional costs once I get on your course?
No, absolutely not. The first aid books given (per household, not per person) are included for each household, as are the memory joggers and all the useful information.
How up to date is your training?
You would think teaching first aid, that the trainer is qualified, but sadly and unfortunately for the unaware customers, many are not. I am proud to say that I’m qualified to the highest of standards and I’m also a first aid assessor. I regularly attend training to update my skills according to the latest legislation/advice.
All instructing is right up to date and I will be happy to show all my certificates on request. My customers expect the best and so do I.

Baby First Aid Course at Home with your friends and Family are very popular.
Over the last 15+ years, I’ve taught countless parents, grandparents, carers, and babysitters how to do first aid on young children. One of the most important things I realised early on is that learning at home is crucial.
I understand that not everyone wants a strict ‘classroom’ environment, especially with babies and small children. We’re more comfortable at home, and it makes it easier to learn in a familiar environment.
Your schedule is often hectic, especially when you have young children to take care of, so I save you the hassle by bringing the course to you.
You won’t be missing out on quality either, I always bring at least 9 manakins to learn with, plenty for you and your family. Speaking of which…
Group Baby First Aid Course at Home
Everybody learns better in groups, especially a practical topic like first aid. Having a Baby First Aid Course at Home parents, relatives and friends are inclined to ask questions & feel more comfortable asking questions and having a go the manikkins.
I specialise in group first aid training, so you can learn alongside your family, friends, babysitters, and anyone else you trust to take care of your children. Providing home classes enables me to be flexible to your needs.
You choose the time to suit your family, rather than a set time when I hold courses in a location that can be tricky to get to. They can be in the morning, afternoon, or evening all in the comfort of your living room.
Don’t worry, I won’t set up a presentation and ask you to sit quietly for 3 hours. My course mostly consists of practical activities, using the manikins to simulate the exact scenarios we discuss. Everything you learn will be backed up with the latest statistics and research, and each household will be given lots of useful handouts and a 72-page full colour Paediatric First aid Book, worth £7.99 (per household) – There’s no need to write notes!
Learning alongside family doesn’t just make the course more memorable, it makes it enjoyable too! Baby first aid may be a serious topic, and I never make light of it, but my courses are still bonding experiences that are a lot of fun.
Why Choose Bumps and Bashes?
I have been providing baby first aid courses for over 15 years now, and only teach the best methods. My course only contains the most effective methods, all taught by a fully qualified and certified instructor.
When it comes to first aid, there is always more to learn. I’m constantly expanding my knowledge so I can incorporate better resources and methods into my courses, ensuring they will always cover everything in the best ways possible.
I also enjoying getting to know you and your family before, during, and after the course. Your time is precious which is why you can choose from morning, afternoon, or evening sessions that fit your busy schedule.
